About Me

Picture
I am a published writer with a B.A. in English writing, Spanish and music.

I graduated summa cum laude from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn., with English honors.

I am currently employed full-time as a writer at Concordia College. I also do freelance writing and editing projects.

I am also a regular contributor for North Dakota LIVING magazine, and I have been published in multiple poetry anthologies. I also have experience with technical writing, editing and transcribing.

I am bilingual in Spanish, and I am happy to translate documents or websites. If you are interested in writing, editing or translation services, please contact me at dmhance@gmail.com.

I am the founder and coordinator of Together Integrating Everyone (T.I.E.), a music ministry to underserved populations in the Fargo-Moorhead area. If you are interested in donating or volunteering, write to tieministry@gmail.com.

I teach piano and clarinet in the Fargo-Moorhead area. I was honored as the Concordia Band's senior soloist in 2007, and I served as the principal clarinetist of the Concordia Orchestra and section leader of the Concordia Band for two years. I studied piano with Dr. Jay Hershberger and clarinet with Dr. Leigh Wakefield.

God has now called me to new ventures, and I am preparing to leave Fargo-Moorhead in pursuit of my call to plant churches in Toulouse, France. Learn more at my new website: Hance in France.
